Our front yard's Landscape

This picture shows the landscape of the NBIC Namibia, Rlabs front yard. The yard itself is quite shady and thus a landscape was advisory to have as we all know landscape improves the view of the yard, support diverse habitats and help soak up excess water quickly.

A healthy working environment paints smiles not only on the staff of the company but also of the individuals that comes in and out of the premises, it keeps them (The staff) healthy by fostering an active working lifestyle and it creates a beautiful environment that decreases stress levels of the staff.  That is why its good to have a beautiful landscape on your yard, it also send a good image to visitors.
A landscape also shows that the company cares about the environment because landscape also helps reduction of soil erosion in waterways, reduction in  evaporation and soil degradation. In simple words landscaping creates a green buffer zone to increase the livability of the environment. It also reduces the risks of vandalism to the property, lower noise levels, it buffers unpleasant views and optimizes the usage level of the outside space for certain activities.
I for one loves a beautiful landscaped yard, be it of a house or business premise, it shows or tells more about the owners of the place. A good looking environment for a business area is likely to attract more people into the place then a business that has a premise that does not look so good from the outside. not saying that the businesses that do not have beautiful landscaped front yards are bad or likely not to be good but just saying, the one with a beautifully landscaped front is likely to attract more traffic then the other.

Skills and involvement in entreprenueship

We had only been here for a month and few weeks at NBIC,everything has been going quite well.I would say its been the best place I had been in years.

I have gained so much knowledge from the business or entrepreneurship week.we started of on how to start up your own business, idea creation, target market and the costs involved. One thing that I understood very well was that you can not start off a business that would run successfully without running down or crushing some where along the line. There must be a few failures in the business in order for it to be highly successful  .We also touched on a few marketing strategies and the reasons why people market their products,in order for you to do this you should get them talking, one would say "that's the reason why they invented Facebook and twitter.social networking is the best way to market your products.

During the last week we focused on a topic which is Train the Trainer. Here we did all the do's and don't s when you are presenting. This was highly effective. Most important always wear official when your presenting.

What I have done in two (2) Weeks...

Entrepreneurship circle week was awesome, started of with Johannes Hasekiel from NBIC, presenting the Scamper models and Product Innovation, which is advisory for entrepreneurs to use when venturing into the business world.
and then the Business Canvas Model was also quite interesting, it was nice having everything explained to us, from how to use the business canvas model to what you may need, how to get it and the type of people to approach (Investors and Partners) when you are an entrepreneur. during this week, we were asked to create groups in which we came up with ideas and worked on them as our businesses (companies) which was fun and intriguing. it felt like we were in the real world of business.

Then there was the Idea Creation that was also helpful and interesting, being given the courage to be able to think outside the box and come up with business ideas was FUN, the ideas needed not only to be of a new business but they could also be of an existing business or product that you may wish to improve. writing down ideas and going to present them in a group got me realizing, we have got so many entrepreneurs in this country and they just need a little push and hand to show the them the way, just listening to what others come up with and how they think of running their businesses was very nice.

Train the Trainer- This week, most of us came close to our great fear public speaking that is. No matter how most of us think we can speak freely and comfortably at all times, as soon you get up there infront of an audience believe me your mind will go blank for seconds and that's when we start getting nervous, legs starts shivering, voice goes mono-tone and the body language changes and does not even correspond with what we are saying.
well, that was taken care of. The trainers did their magic and its working, stage fright will no longer be an issue or a problem for most of us or let me say for ME.The fundamental skills of overcoming stage fright helped me improve my skills of speaking infront of an audience through everyday presentations.

SCAMPER model workshop at NBIC

The Scamper model what we started our day off with.Revolving around an abject ,modifying it adding new features on it .By doing all this you will have to substitute a few features combine objects together amplify it and minify then put to other use ,eliminating and then rearranging...Awesome workshop.

That's not all we did we also did about four projects this was fun.Had to be in groups so we communicate with each other as they say "two heads are better then one".We first started of with the scamper model then had to identify the problems facing on line businesses, created businesses based on the problems we identified .Last but not least we where on micro-screening.The presenter was great he tried to meet us half way which he did.
