Enterpreneurship training at NBIC/RLabs

Namibia Business Innovation strives to find a solution to social problems, which are holding back many productive societies in Namibia.NBIC does this through training (at no cost to participants)the unemployed youth who are highly motivated to achieve the desired social change among many Namibians.

Through this training, I am now a skilled social enterpreneur able to identify social problems among different communities and, with these I am currently able to organize and manage resources to achieve and find solutions to different nature of social problems.

I am of the opinion that other educational institutions should put great efforts in developing this type of approach social problems among the youth.

I am proud with what is NBIC the nation.

tera blog: The weeks that was

first week

What a great privilege  it is being one of the participants on the Social Media  training at NBIC!!  if one wants to be a entrepreneur you should just think crazy!some would say think out of the box.

Its a good  idea to marketing business on line but  at times it  depends on who you as an entrepreneur is tarting, and do this people  have excise to the net.  If   this customers do not have excise to internet then it will not be a good idea  marketing only on line cause your customers would  not see your advert.

Marketing on line can be of great success at times..

                                          the next week
Training the trainer...........this was the experience of my life, above all i always wanted to be able to speak in front of a big crowd.

The fear that i had of speaking and now i can stand up for my self  and say what  i have to say with out being afraid  of anything or any one!It always looked  impossible but after this week thanks for the had work of  Emily,Asnath and Aini ,highly appreciated!!!

Now I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!

Banganibo knows: Social investment & entrepreneurship

Since i have gasped more knowledge on Social network marketing and entrepreneurship my eyes opened i could not understand the opportunity that was sitting right in front of me.It was the a fun ride cause for the first time i realized that i could really interact with the world on a larger scale. The ideas which i had which seemed impossible at once was at my finger tips.I did not know that knowing how to do things the right way applying the right method would be able to take me thus far.personally my brain sparks with ideas every single second,i only see opportunity around me,my focus to help people with what i can is terrific.Co-prate Social investment is one of the greatest standby which could benefit our country as a whole, many have ideas but the support system lacks.I'm working in a system not built in our favor and i plan to change that in anyway i can.I wish to spread the knowledge learned and plan to share it with everyone i can, wish to gain more in the process.I believe building a foundation for people of our country ''I CALL THIS MY FORMULA'' for development.I will definitely in the future talk more about that, but for today i want to say thank you to all the people that has really opened my eyes and let me see further then i use to..

Skills and involvement in entreprenueship

We had only been here for a month and few weeks at NBIC,everything has been going quite well.I would say its been the best place I had been in years.

I have gained so much knowledge from the business or entrepreneurship week.we started of on how to start up your own business, idea creation, target market and the costs involved. One thing that I understood very well was that you can not start off a business that would run successfully without running down or crushing some where along the line. There must be a few failures in the business in order for it to be highly successful  .We also touched on a few marketing strategies and the reasons why people market their products,in order for you to do this you should get them talking, one would say "that's the reason why they invented Facebook and twitter.social networking is the best way to market your products.

During the last week we focused on a topic which is Train the Trainer. Here we did all the do's and don't s when you are presenting. This was highly effective. Most important always wear official when your presenting.

ko2 blog: Go for Business

The first day the Entrepreneurship training was great experience,i gain more experience in starting up my own business and how to create a business idea and what certain method i have to use to run my business, different social media tools.how to do market research, developing products, setting prices, deciding on distribution of networks and organizing advertisement and promotion campaign.

We had a workshop where i also obtain more skills on how to make your product good enough online, find out where your best customers hang out online and arrange to put banners, advertisement implanted on the wed page encourage your happy customers to carry your logo on your email.

Think out of the box and create a want,be passionate about your product in order to make sales.think a head, make sure your target audience can find and buy your product easily.

Next day...Train a Trainer
The next day we were train how to become a trainer.how to to do representations about your business in which way you have to behave in order to make your customers satisfy about your available product.how your representation should look like, how your should dress when you addressing the representation, your body language, your voice and your preparation for the representation etc

What I have done in two (2) Weeks...

Entrepreneurship circle week was awesome, started of with Johannes Hasekiel from NBIC, presenting the Scamper models and Product Innovation, which is advisory for entrepreneurs to use when venturing into the business world.
and then the Business Canvas Model was also quite interesting, it was nice having everything explained to us, from how to use the business canvas model to what you may need, how to get it and the type of people to approach (Investors and Partners) when you are an entrepreneur. during this week, we were asked to create groups in which we came up with ideas and worked on them as our businesses (companies) which was fun and intriguing. it felt like we were in the real world of business.

Then there was the Idea Creation that was also helpful and interesting, being given the courage to be able to think outside the box and come up with business ideas was FUN, the ideas needed not only to be of a new business but they could also be of an existing business or product that you may wish to improve. writing down ideas and going to present them in a group got me realizing, we have got so many entrepreneurs in this country and they just need a little push and hand to show the them the way, just listening to what others come up with and how they think of running their businesses was very nice.

Train the Trainer- This week, most of us came close to our great fear public speaking that is. No matter how most of us think we can speak freely and comfortably at all times, as soon you get up there infront of an audience believe me your mind will go blank for seconds and that's when we start getting nervous, legs starts shivering, voice goes mono-tone and the body language changes and does not even correspond with what we are saying.
well, that was taken care of. The trainers did their magic and its working, stage fright will no longer be an issue or a problem for most of us or let me say for ME.The fundamental skills of overcoming stage fright helped me improve my skills of speaking infront of an audience through everyday presentations.

Eva's blog: Enterpreneurship and Train the Trainer

The Entrepreneurship workshop i learned a lot on how i can start my own business. The workshop on   entrepreneurship on how i can start my own business, with existing product that i will only add on them features is was very very very fun and crazy. We did the scamper model form and the micro-screening form. The scamper model was all about how i can add features on an existing product, the cost of changing it and the benefits for customers. Micro-screening is the kind off business idea, what business i want to start. Then the solvent demand  for my business, qualified personnel that i have, the availability of technology or equipment, availability of raw material then i total that. Just like in ant business has competitors i learned how i can consider my competitors and the critical success factors, which is what i don't have so that i can start, these are equipment and finance. We did the business canvas too it was a little bit tough, but yes i learned how i can have a good communication with my customer.

The train the trainer we did the how to present my business to my audience, which is presentation. We use Microsoft PowerPoint. I really i didn't know how this work, and now i know it works too make or write presentation. We did how we can fight our fear when talking in front of our audience. Wow! this was fun, just those mistake we did. Here we did how we can use our body language, speech, hands, eye contact and not to stand in front of the slide. This was very very very important. I am learning a lot.

My experience on Enterprenuership skills and Train the Trainer skills

The training on entrepreneurship has been the most educational, especially on the social business marketing skills and the
Micro screening processes,SCAMPER Process which helped me gain more knowledge on major proceedures to follow when deciding on any business products, this involves identifying strategic partners, market or customer segment and the availability of adequate resources for the production of goods and services,e.g equipment, finance and raw materials.

The Train the Trainer session was interesting,I have acquired strong skills in the presentation skills, I have gained more knowledge on how to create productive presentations. The trainers were very accurate at all activities during the training.

Idea Creation Awesome

This was a good day, got more out of today's workshop. Made me think long and hard about what I thought, I knew and a good mind exercise. There is a lot of things involved in idea creation, not just ones that pops up and whoop you start a business. There are steps to follow and the templates handed out were very useful.

The exercises were very engaging and the presenter made learning feel like a game. The learning by doing was helpful. The scamper model (which was new to me) was interesting and looking forward to applying that in my business.

Today Workshop

Today was awesome and  I'm looking forward to the rest of the day! I'm almost there and i know i will be there soon.......the whole system is well prepared. Today workshop was about the Scamper and Micro-screening and criteria. This whole business idea creation is amazing and very useful to us in future. The workshop provide us a starting point toward the business success and to me it seems like everyone here is very hungry for the information. This workshop was the crucial workshop i never had before and what i gain from this workshop will help me in future...... thanks to RLabs Namibia.

Idea creation work shop

The final presentation he did was on MICRO-SCREENING CRITERIA,,wereby we talked aboout the critical success factors in terms of business..so if you want to be a sucessfull entreprenuer join our group..

NBIC workshop: Idea Creation

Today was a workshop day from the NBIC Marketing Officer Hasekiel Johannes. Wow! It was very educational and creative. I learned Scamper Model and Micro-screening-form. He was speaking loud and clear,so i could get well what he was saying.I enjoyed the scamper model, this was very very very creative or a think out of the box. It was how to add features on an existing product. In our goup we took a an animal draw plough,we added three hoes, engine and fuel is to use chicken feaces and cows dug. It was very creative.

We did the problems that online business can have. Here we find out that online can be dangerous with you card codes somebody can steal it and use it etc.We came up with how these problems can be solved by us making up a business that will help these kind of problems not happen more often. Our business was a Consultancy company where we were more focusing on training staffs. We train hem that if a business has to deliver a product late not on the expected time then the company should at least give a discount or if they deliver a wrong item then the next delivery should be at least for free. Everything was just creativity and fun!
WHAT a day it was!!!!!!!!!we had such a great time during the workshop at NBCI!In life it nesesery for a business person to to think crazy or  better  yet think outside the box!!Whom of us that was attending this workshop knew that we would come up with such great idea...it was very great.
IDEA CREATION WORKSHOP (NBIC)

We just finished with the awesome presentation we got from Hasekiel Johannes the Innovation market officer of Namibia business innovation centre.

It was indeed a well presented workshop. It focused on the scamper model (substitute, combine, amplify, minify, put to other use, eliminate, and rearrange). We also created business ideas and assessed our ideas.
Now we know what to do with our business ideas.

SCAMPER model workshop at NBIC

The Scamper model what we started our day off with.Revolving around an abject ,modifying it adding new features on it .By doing all this you will have to substitute a few features combine objects together amplify it and minify then put to other use ,eliminating and then rearranging...Awesome workshop.

That's not all we did we also did about four projects this was fun.Had to be in groups so we communicate with each other as they say "two heads are better then one".We first started of with the scamper model then had to identify the problems facing on line businesses, created businesses based on the problems we identified .Last but not least we where on micro-screening.The presenter was great he tried to meet us half way which he did.
We had a great, wonderful workshop 2day,we did much on Business ideas, how to create on business ideas, how to motivate, innovative, usefulness, viability and growth potential and sustainability of an business.I learn more and gain more experience of how to start up my own business and market it as well.from now i know how to think Globally and trust my instincts and make my product more available.

THE WORKSHOP AT Rlabs Namibia

"The workshop was appropriate and informative, but it was a bit challenging and unexpected activities to do but but we manage it , the workshop gave us lots of experience, but i atleast catch up something ."

Today's Idea Creation Presentation

Today's presentation was great and very informative. I thought i knew what idea creation and screening was all about until Johaness Hassekiel came to give the presentation on Idea creation and Micro-Screening. I can now proudly say, Whatever business ideas i have, i will be able to asses, micro-screen them and use the Scamper Model if the ideas are on product changing, adding new features or eliminating an existing product.

The few group activities that were given helped also, as the say goes "Two heads are better then one"....... so, group activities helps one understand things better.

‘A walk in the technology world, Blessed twice’ compiled by Aini

It’s that time again, whereby I could say; I’m blessed again to receive such a wonderful opportunity from the Namibian Business Innovation Centre. It all started a year ago, with the social media training, and this year I had the same lucky to join and be trained as an Online Marketing consultant.
On the first day of training, 29th January 2013, Mustafa Mor of NBIC introduced us to a topic of online marketing…….what it is? And what you need to be able to execute the tasks as an online consultant for any company, big or small.
Mr. Mor said and I quote “your online marketing goal depends on the campaign you‘re working on, and/or product of that company, and what you want to offer to companies”.
During the training, I had an opportunity to gain extra knowledge about presentation skills as presented by Mr. Mufaro Nesongano. When presenting, you need to find an image that suits you best, and to build good will with your audience. In that time, you need to inform and persuade your clients in buying your offer especially when following the six tips below;
·         Body language
·         Announce “This is important”
·         Pause, just before and after
·         Make the audience laugh just before
·         Look your audience in the eye, not too obvious
·         Smile and relax
·         Tell a  story
Its then I realized I too lack this; I become nervous and get stage flight when presenting. But like the saying goes, never give up and always have a vision in life.
Ø
Second training day, 30th January 2013, I learned how search engine works, thanks to my facilitator Mr. Mor.
I learned that the search engine rank keywords as to how many times people/ users search for them on the internet, which was actually amazing because that never closed my mind but I ask myself, how does the computer and internet work? It’s pretty fascinating to learn about this.
“Never wish life were easier, wish that you were better”
