Time well spend at Rlabs Namibia

My name is Fabiola Unique Tjiueza, I'm a self-loving ambitious lady. I'm always open to new ideas and continuous development. eager to learn new things and always ready for new challenges. I'm not afraid of change and that's what makes me unique.

Rlabs Namibia has helped me alot in social networks most importantly it has boost my confidence through the fun 'check in' games we do before every lesson.i used to have google accounts without knowing anything about it, like i never knew that accounts get hacked etc... thanks for there fabulous Rlabs Namibia family i got to learn pretty much on social networks like voice over Internet protocol, advantages of using gmail,Internet etiquette etc. the course its very interesting recommendable as you can use the info to start your own business.

How i am going to use the skill from the training

This is a grate opportunity for me because being introduce to RLab was not just a blessing to me but i was given a key without knowing it.

Yes... its a key to me cause i was admitted to Troumphant college but i coulnt  study there  due to financial problem and i went to the ministry of education and they said i should at least have a certificate or pay the first year out of my own pocket.
know that i attended the cause i can go and get the loan.

Next year i will do what i wanted to do thanks to RLab!!!

rlabs course

I'm Menongongo Kambato i want to learn lot about social media and digital media

The training is going well a lots because the way i was and  now is totally different because i know to communicate through Internet inside the country and out of the country .I also meet with different people with different character's and they are  all good to me ,help me where i do not understand .Come to know that people open accounts on computer using Internet .

In this training i learn that we should have backups case of disaster ,for the information not to be lots etc. backups means you should store the information either two or three hard drive even memory disks but i b prefer hard drive because it will store enough information .I also learn advantage mail and disadvantage .Advantage time consuming  and save ,also private because you use password to give you access .Disadvantage where there is no networks you will not have access to your e-mail ,also you might not have computer so you will not go through your email.

I learn about drop box you can connect with your cellphone if someone steal your phone you will know that person.I learn about hardware and software ,hardware is anything you see and touch and software you but you do not touch .

I will using this program to find a job using the certificate i will get here .And the knowledge i get here using computer even at home .And to teach other people about computers  and tell peoples about this program that you offering.

How rlabs change me in a better someone.

As a person that new very little about personal computer now i have add more knowledge how to operate on it.At least i know about sending emails, opening of tabs ,goggle when you want to know  about certain things,Skiping, communication on line, sharing of screens, instant messaging using different search  engines e.g goggle, yahoo etc,and how to create new folders.

I really feels like am a student  at the university the training is very good the way you do the presentation you are well qualified lecturers, you make a person understand things proper and it encourages a person to study more of the courses you offer here. You are soft well mannered people know how to communicate with different people and their characters,i enjoy the training and it really help us people who can't afford to pay for institution. As we all know that education is the key to any door in life i appreciate what you do and may god bless you abundantly.

I will take this skills and put it in  action even when i use to see a vacancy that require computer literate normally hesitate to apply but now i can take a chance. You even encourages me to purchase my own PC as it need more practise to no more about the computer.I see my doors opened through your skills even if i have my own small business i will know how to manage my information save.

It's a great idea to have RLabs Namibia

I can't express my appreciation for this labs, as they were made available to the Namibian Nation at such "a not even cheap" offer.

It was a dream come true for me and I believe the same apply with the fellow attenders, which is so appreciable because in today's life nothing comes for free, not talk about the well equipped facilitators/lecturers and the readily available equipment to use at our own pace.

I am very delighted to have this opportunity, which I believe will change my life and land me far in life.

I have learn a great deal of issues like how to use the Internet at large e.i. how to use various search engines to search for places and peole on the web, how to use goole maps when in need of registering a place on a map, how to search for people using the web, how to add a link as well as how to open an account, for example face book and interact with other people as well as use bloggers to publish  information about oneself/business ect.

I reccoment the continuity of RLabs.

Penney

My name is Christine Nangombe, I have learned quite a good experience at the Rlabs.. have learned much about using a computer in general and using the internet and its channels in terms of knowing which websits to go to when looking for certain things or when wanting to market your business or any kinda sort.... i am looking forward to going out there so i use the knowledge that i have gained at the Rlabs because am sure it is really gonna do me good..... Thanking u dearly Rlabs
From day one RLabs has been a learning experience, I remember my first day in class we were suppose to introduce our self to one another... the fact that it was the first day and I barely knew anyone it was nerve wrecking, but Esnath and Emily were very welcoming and I had to note that they have made my learning so much easy. I remember my very first lesson were I barely knew the uses of Internet, now i can fluently and diligently with ease browse through the Internet tapping in the right keys and receiving all my information without much hustle. RLaBs has given an opportunity for many of us, i could remember a few months ago I didn't know what the difference between Internet and a computer, I would just put the same meaning and foolishly brush of any questions. After learning the Internet I open my eyes to a world of innovation, recently opened my life experience to a world of Forums... i could easily join groups and get all the information of my interests from this groups, I could note so many things i learned but even that would not amount how detail the lectures are to making us, the students to understand, from the emailing to the goggle maps, it was an experience just to add a location to a map. Life has always been interesting, but with RLaBs around the corner it make life an interesting lesson.

RLabs Namibia- skills acquired

My time at RLabs was the best experience of of my life. I learned how to use the internet to search for important information. I also got to  learn how to add a link which I never knew how to do.I got to add a location on goggle maps and did a lot more.Thank you RLabs for the knowledge and experience .

My experience with RLabs Namibia

Because of the digital era we are living in, I embraced the great opportunity offered by RLabs on Introduction to digital and social media.

I would say what  I have gained supplemented my digital skills and I am looking forward to the Advanced courseand these skills will have positive ripple effects on those that never had this opportunity.

The youthfulness and vibrancy of the facilitators (power to the women) fits well with the of RLabs' Vision.

My experience at  Rlabs thus  far has been awesome. The people here are very welcoming and friendly, the training is very educative and informative. Apart from the professional training that they offer, I  got to meet the most amazing people that are my classmates. Not to forget tea time, very delicious. The Rlabs training program makes a meaningful contribution to the youth and society at large, some of us came with nothing and now we are living with something, that is the knowledge and skills that we  will be able to use in empowering ourselves and our communities.

Knowledge i acquired at RLabs on how to use the internet.

I gained a lot of  knowledge on how to use the internet,i know how to open accounts on different  social networks, how to create my email address, how to search for information, how to download things, before i came to RLabs i never knew that i could edit something on the internet like copying and pasting a link, how to create a blog and i am also learning how to interact with people from different backgrounds as " the ALWAYS HAPPY Asnath " makes sure we do that during class by having personal conversations with each other or by playing games.
RLABS has been a great experience for me i learned a lot, i met every interesting people over the time and i think they are doing a hell of a job here i want to thank you guys for everything (including the coffee and biscuits) keep it up.
THANK YOU RLAB!

RLabs namibia- best time ever

Socail Media and Digital Media course

I have learnt quite a lot of interesting things about the Internet, RLabs is doing a great job for the community.

The Village Boy.

Once upon time there was a boy name Damien,he was a town boy he usually visited his grandmother at the village every holiday,he would not miss any holiday without seeing his grandma.

One holiday he went to go visit his grandma he so excited because he was promoted to grade 10 and wanted to show his results to his grandma. Just as he gets there he ran directly to his grandma gave her a big hug with a kiss on her cheek he then ran back to go collect his bags,as he got the bags he immediately took out the the report card and went straight to his grandma with a smile telling her that he just pass grade 9,his grandma was very happy for him.

After a long night with his grandma the next morning Damien woke up very early to go look at his Cow since he heard that his cow was pregnant and could give birth any moment so he so excited thinking that the cow will give birth in the morning. Later that morning he went to go collect wood so that he could start fire and make tea for the family.

Later that day they went to go look at the crops,Damien is a boy that always helps when it is needed,as they were busy looking at the crops Damien saw a stick lying there as he was trying to pick it up his cousin shout to him telling him not to pick it up since it was not a stick but was a snake that just lied there. He stand back and took stones and started throwing stones at the snake,by the help of his cousins they manage to kill the snake and they took it back to the house so that their grandma can look at it and pray so that it can not happen again....

So this was a story of
a boy who is so in love with his grandma
Damien.

INTERESTING COURSE AT RLABS NAMIBIA

I'm really so excited  that i joined this social and digital media course at NBIC RLABS Namibia. Before i started attending  this course i knew nothing about Internet or social media but now opened e-mail accounts with gmail, twitter, you tube and facebook now i know how to communicate online .
Internet in context
what is Internet?  the Internet is the infrastructure that allows you to build a website.
How do we connect to the Internet? we connect to the Internet using 3G, WI-Fi, dial up, modem, router,DS4. Example of Internet browsers are fire fox, opera mini, goggle chrome .

Search engines is a database system designed to index and categories Internet address otherwise known as URLs examples of search engines are goggle, yahoo and Bing.
DNS (domain name system) is the address to the sever that  the site is saved on and send to the correct destination.

We also look at the difference between downloading and uploading and the difference between URLs and DNS.I'm looking forward to learn more with RLABS.

My experience at RLabs

My name is Canny Petrus and i am going to tell you the difference between the Web and the Internet.
Internet-is a collection of computers that are connected to one another in a global network. It existed since the mid 1960s.
Web-is the collection of interlinked documents that are accessible through a web browser. The internet is the infrastructure that makes the web possible. This only came into being since 1991.

Most people have misunderstandings about downloading, most of us think downloading is when we take pictures, videos or music from the internet to our phones or computer but the real meaning of downloading is when we watch videos, look at pictures, listen to music or read texts online and i say that because for it to be possible the internet is connected to a server and it's the server that sends the information onto the internet, meaning when you watch a video or listen to music on the internet it first has to run from a server then to the internet.

What is the best way to communicate online?
For this i recommend forums. This is a site where people with the same interests come together and post threads on certain topics to agree or disagree. Please try it out,it's really fun

It was great sharing my knowledge with you.
Thanks to the RLabs family.

What i have gained from RLabs

The incredible experience i gain at RLabs, ever since i stepped a foot in NBIC i have gainned so much that has to do with social media and digital media. As i was taught how create a gmail account and how to attach documents.  The difference between downloading is taking something of the internet and uploading is putting something on the internet.
This are my 2 favourites out of the 9 ways of thinking outside the box always have a question for everything and spend quality time with your brain.
I am going to round off what I have learned in the social media training of RLabs Namibia. Before i go in into details, RLabs stands for reconstructing living labs and it was found by Marlon Paker, in 2008.  RLabs is a global movement and registered social enterprise that provides innovative solutions to address various complex.  Now what what I have learned, so far  is how to create different kind of accounts on the net, faster and easier than before.  Internet which is the connection of different computer connected to each other. WWW stand for world wide web and its a document saved on the server.
web 1.0 here people don't comment.  e.g newspaper
web 2.0 here the people do comment. e.g Facebook and twitter
web2.0 this is still to come.

Last but least on this, its protocol which is certain rules to follow, on how to do something.  Now in computer there is also a word called computer protocol which is the number on the computer to trace it or know its whereabouts.

R-LABS AND THE GOOD OPPORTUNITIES THAT YOU GET.

First of all I learn what R-LAB was actually about, whereby I found out it's a global movement and a register social enterprise. Also about its core activities, the type of things it provide to us.
The other part we learn is about G-mail,whereby we compared between G-mail and Yahoo. I found it that G-mail is more saver then Yahoo, because at Yahoo your account will be hacked easily.

Caches were also part of the lesson, whereby you delete all your old information you have in your PC including from the recycle bin. We talk about search engines which is a database system designed to index and catagorise internet addresses. We were also taught how to how open a G-mail account as well as facebook account for people that didn't a account. We learn about the the different domains.

We also differentiate between uploading and downloading. We did evaluating an online source whereby you could see wether its a dead or alive site. As well as doing research online, how to search as brief as possible. How to do folders and tags on delicious, using bookmarks on internet ,adding links on delicious .
Not to forget we were also taught to do a wikipedia page for our school whereby you must include the achievements, history and the school principle.

rlabs forever!

In the nutshell- rlabs is a ball!

I can Maximize the potential of my computer on and off line. Online multi-tasking has never been easier! I have got a drop box and my work loads follows me and shortcuts to my favorite links. I manage and organize my info with ease making it a breeze. Confidence in public speaking is also taught. Speaking in front  of the class is not as easy as just standing up and start taking. The right posture, tone and voice level is required. Looking at your audience is necessary to show not only that you know what you are taking about but helps people gain trust in what you have to say and win them over.

The benefits of attending classes at rlabs are life long skills and which one will never loose. I love coming to class and don't miss any lesson. Thank you rlabs I value my lessons and will cherish them forever!
